Their History

The band formed in December, 1999 in Sweden. The band's first signing was with the company Underground Symphony. They then went on to release some demo tapes and created their first album which they scrapped. They then released Primo Victoria, their first major ablum to show their historical theme. They then went onto work on many other albums including: The Art of War, Metalizer, Coat of Arms, Attero Dominatus, Carolus Rex, Heroes and more.

The band got their name when Joakim thought of the idea when reading a medival war book, A sabaton is a metal covering that covers a knights foot.
